This was evident in May this year when there was a historic moment with nursing when all member states endorsed a resolution at the 74th World Health Assembly. The resolution was informed by the Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery 2021 - 2025. Its policy priorities in four major areas, education, jobs, leadership, and service delivery will strengthen both nursing and midwifery and I hope it will ensure the further development of nurses as leaders at the most senior level in governments.

All four of those states, the two purple and the two light-blue, what's holding up their implementation at this point is the implementation of federal criminal background checks. So, we hope in the next year... And, some of them have been in a holding pattern for a few years already like Guam and Pennsylvania, but we do hope that that'll come to a resolution if not this year in 2025 so that they can fully implement the compact. In 2025, we anticipate that all of these gray states will again, try to join the compact. Some of them come very close. There's significant activity in Alaska, in Hawaii, in Massachusetts, in Michigan, in New York.

National APRN organizations have called for a doctoral degree to serve as the standard for entry into APRN practice. Most have established goal dates for this to be achieved. To date, only the CRNA educational programs and certifying bodies, the NBCRNA, have agreed to require a doctoral degree for CRNA program graduates in 2025. Regulation of APRNs remains a patchwork of consensus model alignment across the U.S. jurisdictions. We continue to support removal of barriers to full practice authority for all APRNs, including those for CRNAs at the state and veteran's affair level.

We will continue to have existing education programs based on the current categories of practice, the family all ages, the adult pediatric neonatal. As I said, these entry level competency category education programs will begin being phased out. This is already starting in 2023 and will lead to continuing up to 2025 or probably by the by the end of 2025, because they are currently in these programs. They will graduate in these categories of practice. As I said, we are currently conducting the NP practice analysis. That validation survey was provided and distributed to a nurse practitioner in mid-March.

Brendan was the one that did the analysis of our original one. And boards were just collecting different things at different times. And it was very hard to come to one particular thing, and be able to statistically analyze it. So five years after the start, so in 2025, we'll be doing another statistical analysis of these data, which are going to be very sophisticated, that sophisticated statistical model. And then also, being able to benchmark, not only the programs but across the boards. And being able then, to me this is the beauty of it, to make evidence-based changes before programs fall below standards.
